Too Many Pinkie Pies review

I've decided to do regular episode reviews for this show, so here's the third episode of the new season! Does it live up to the great season premier, or is Too Many Pinkie Pies just too much?

Too Many Pinkie Pies is easily the most surreal episode of the show so far. I understand what happened, but still feel bewildered by it. Now, in the previous episode, the writers introduced world building and darker themes. So, what happens here? Well, there's some backstory, but and we see a bit more of the magic of Equestria, but world building doesn't play much of a role here. Dark themes on the other hand? Oh boy...

Now, I can't go into detail and remain spoiler free, but let's just say that Pinkie Pie doesn't remain her normal peppy self throughout the entire episode. In addition, the ending is... open to interpretation. Now, I have a pretty good argument for my interpretation, but I'm not going to ruin the community's fun, and again, spoilers.

The characters seem to have stabilized since last we saw them. In the beginning of the series, they were, for lack of a better word, a bit crazy. However, they actually seem pretty sane in this one. It allows for more reaction humor, and does indeed benefit the episode.

Generally, the whole thing is entertaining, with great humor, great drama, and an overall great story. Three episode in the season, and we're doing pretty good.
