Mud review

So I finally watched the acclaimed drama "Mud". Trust me, this isn't one to be missed.

Mud is a movie that is continuously building up to a point. It starts off a bit slow paced, before eventually kicking the main plot into motion. This works out well for the film, as it starts out setting up the characters and building up the character relationships that become important later. This is also the part of the movie where it is least likely to crush your soul, as it is before the major dramatic twists kick in.

The film gets very depressing by the end-it genuinely made me cry. It serves as a parable in some ways, serving a message about the fragility of love. The dramatic scenes are legitimately intense, and that comes from the strength of the script alone. It is a very powerful movie.

The characters are all well-developed, regardless of if they're likable or not. The writing is very strong, as is the acting, which contributes further to giving life to the characters. It's not a movie without a heart-it ends on a hopeful note, has many sweet moments, and treats its subjects with care. This helps to make it all the more affecting when bad things happen.

Mud is in the running for my favourite movie of the year. I highly recommend it.
